Overview
The trees in this site were few and hard to get to through the brush and shrubs on a steep incline. The trees were on average healthy unless they were located on the edge of the bank. The trees that were, started to lean towards the opposite water bank as the soil around the roots was washed away. Another notable fact is that many of trees on site were fused with another tree at the base. Other vegetation included a large amount of invasive weeds that choked out the natural plant life.
Visual-Biological Factors
There were very small fish that were seen rarely throughout the collecting period. On one morning, there was a small rabbit crossing the stream. There were spiders and also many various insects including: woodlice, ticks, and mosquitoes.
Data Collected
The trees picked at this site had many problems due to erosion. The steep incline that continually eroded made it difficult for trees to develop a stable root system. Other problems included poor tree architecture meaning many trees were leaning over, had a curve in the trunk, or were fused at the base to another tree.
